334. road trips
I miss sitting in a car for hours, enjoying the scenery and listening to (whatever) music playing in the background. Ahhh... road trips. Nothing like the good 'ol often-taken-for-granted-pleasure of traveling.
Either with or without company, long trips let you discover more of life: you witness lives unfold outside the car windows, you dare visualize yourself in bizaare situations, you enter in the realms of your subconscious, you stop by car stations of areas you can't imagine to live in, you relate to the people you're stuck with for the whole duration of the trip, etc. etc. blah blah.
But you know what's even better? Sitting there in silence --- pondering on things, listening to the noise of the car engine along with other sounds contributed outside your personal confinement. In silence of the trip, you learn of things oftentimes ignored.
Despite the anticipation to reach certain destinations, it brings a wonderful sense of relief how journeys bring out life's simple joys without us knowing it.
