J'ai faim. Je veux manger.
So show me some love because I'm off to Module 2!!!
<3
Below are some pictures I took during our last day.
Most likely, we'd all still be under one class, since most of us signed up for Module 2:
I'd miss our professor, Anna. She's going back to France for her Master Studies. Generally, she did great teaching us the basics. I do hope our next professeur will be just as great. And fun!
L'etudiantes surrounding la professeur (in white), Anna. We won't be starting classes until last Saturday of August, so that'll give me time to rest next Saturday.
Yeahboy! At last, reunion with my bed next Saturday morning!
PHEW
Two more sessions to go and I'm done with Module 1 of my French class. I'm close to the end it made me realize how French language is tad "challenging" than I thought it was.
If there are valuable things I learned about the French language, these top my list:
It is a breathe of fresh air, as I get out of my "comfort language zone" known as Filipino & English**
It really IS nasal. Oftentimes, it is.
It is either masculine or feminine, depending on the word. Pourquoi? Ne demandez pas.
It is smooth-sailing, you connect two-three words if the beginning of each word starts with a vowel.
It sounds seductive, mostly because (again) it is smooth sailing.
But most of all, to TOP the top off, ----
I LEARNED THAT FRENCH LANGUAGE CAN BE QUITE A PAIN IN THE @#$.
Pointe.
Don't take it as an offense, s'il vous plait. In fact, it is because of ALL these stuff that my interest with the language "leveled up".
I have to say that enrolling the class wasn't a regretful decision as it helped me appreciate France's culture. In my own little way, I was able to distinguish similarities/differences of both languages (Filipino & French) in terms in grammar composition.
And as I come out clean of my mixed sentiments with the language, I conclude this experience by getting into another.Four words: French-Module-Part-Two.
Call me a masochist, but I must admit that I'm taken by the language. Logically, the next step is to take another class relevant to it. I feel like I deserve it (being a masochist?! haha!) especially after attending three early morning sessions after my graveyard shift.
HAH. You have to at least give it up for my "subconscious" determination, you reckon not?
I have a strong feeling that digging deeper into the language can be useful in so many ways ---aside of course, from my goal of visiting a couple of landmarks in France. For starters, I have a boss who randomly shoots me with French questions, a French client who handles various European accounts, a colleague who divulges into French & a friend who is a "pro" in the language, but honestly not French at all.
The only underlying question now is: Who is the best person to converse? I need someone who can answer back in French. Someone who is patient, really patient, to bear with me everytime I say the phrase, "...répétéz, s'il vous plait? je ne comprends pas..."
Pourquoi? Trust me: Reading French is one thing, but to hear one blurt out French?
HAH. I feel like I'm warped in a zone known as Twilight. I can be really slow.
That is the question de l'heure which I'd probably figure the answer later.
I'm just glad to have taken this class. And as I finish the session, I'm conditioning myself to another level. Because frankly?

Third session of French Module 1: Today, we explored more on numbers alongside the questions of where, who & when. 'Twas fun!
The only numbers we counted was from une to soixante-neuf, since there are minor complications for all numbers beyond that (which will be discussed next week)....
...so I consulted my linguist of a cousin & realized that there's a whole new dimension to counting in terms of French. I find it bizarre how they came up with the counting system; but heck, it ain't French if it ain't like that. Anyway, it still sounded nice.
I also got my AFdM card so I immediately borrowed two DVDs of which I may watch later. I'm totally beat today considering how Saturday went about:
Morning - French Class
Afternoon - Lunch/ Gym Enrollment
Late Afternoon - 30% of 1 MONTH's laundry (Booooooo!)
Evening - Dinner and coffee
Late Evening - Informelle French lesson w/my cousins
Off to bed now... J'y vais et a plus tard!
The class was fun. The teacher was Filipina, but her admirable personality made the class atmosphere more relaxed and her French accent, au naturelle. The moment she entered the room, she was speaking French! Funny enough, we in the class had NO idea whatsoever (well, except for some basic words I know) of what she was talking about.
My class occurs on weekends. It has a 3-hour duration, which I reckon is good enough to learn reasonable amount of french words.
The age group inside my class was varying from 16-early 30s. It was fun to meet new acquaintances and possibly new "friends". My only concern, possibly weeks from now, is when I go on a night work schedule. Our new office is in Ortigas while my class is held in Makati. It'll be crazy, me all groggy whilst inside a class; but generally, it is fun. :-)
C'est la vie.
