A bit behind posting, yes..but it's never too late for aesthetic pleasure:
University of Santo Tomas - Manila
18 December 2009, UST Paskuhan*
Dancing of Lights at the UST Main Building. Giant Christmas Tree situated at the Grandstand Inside the UST Main Building lies a wide array of historic culture (where the Museum is, as well). More of Christmas art decors around the University.
One of the highlights is the 15-minute fireworks display.
Counting down to 2011, wherein UST celebrates its 400 years as the Royal Pontifical University in the Philippines.
I graduated from UST back in 2003, with a degree in Business Administration... and look where I am now! Lolz. I guess, that part of my study is applied in doing special projects and handling people at work. (In case you're still wondering, I'm a graphic designer/ photographer, career-wise)
It is always good to look back at a part of my history. Lots of great memories here in my Alma Mater, which never fails to bring back that certain "school spirit" in me. Now that UST is nearing its 400th year, it gives me something to look forward to --- can't wait to be a part of it!

*An annual tradition held during December -- filled with activities, programs and free food. It showcases Thomasian talents, alongside reminiscing of events that transpired during the school year. The event officially jumpstarts Christmas break, a two-three week holiday for UST Faculty and Students. It officially ends with a 15-minute fireworks display.
My friend/co-photographer took these images Thursday last week.
He took a lot, but here are some samples:
Looking down...
It was fun doing the photo shoot, but I'd really rather be behind the lens :-)
I'm more comfortable taking my photos at home, thank you very much.
(And with a timer too!)
But who knows?! I did get the hang of it!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
A CHEERIO CHRISTMAS & A BLISSFUL NEW YEAR!!!

It took me four years (or maybe five) to get back to Saguijo --- a bar wherein both band and crowd enjoys the intimacy of the place.
The return was quite nostalgic. And therapeutic to the senses.
Radioactive Sago Project Live at Saguijo
I was sitting in the corner, enjoying great sounds.
Opening acts include a variety of bands, young and old, attuned to please the audience.
"Framing" the vocalist.
The guitarist and the trumpist compliment each other perfectly.
Wall art. Vocalist of Up Dharma Down effortlessly sings and tinkers the keyboard. Band drummer. The crowd participates as the band plays.
Guijo St., Makati
Handpainted wall art.
This makes a nice postcard.

It was bizaare to see Saguijo housing a new crowd. There was no familiar face to greet or say hi to. But I'm glad to witness how the place still offers music seemingly exclusive for the audience to participate to.
That and the fact that it still maintains a subconscious promise: to bring satisfaction to people who finds solace in music.
Saguijo is located at 7612 Guijo St., San Antonio Village, Makati.
You can check daily gigs at their official website.

I like to think that the moon is there even if I am not looking at it.

Yesterday, I did a favor for a friend who wants his portrait taken. He asked me to be his photographer.
So we did a couple of test shots to check on the appropriate lighting to use. While we were trying to figure out the best camera settings, he had me for his model. (He also is a photographer and he wants to assess which settings to use.)
We had a couple of random shots and this picture WON the "iLikey!" vote.
I don't care if my hair's a mess. Heck, I don't even fit the description of someone being "dressed down"!. However, I honestly like this, sans not being the prettiest. :-)

One of our requirements to acquire class certificate was the glass shot. I tried a lot of presentation styles. It was tedious, but then again, all was worth it.
Classic shot.
Classic shot... with orange slice.
Viva La France?!
Oui, c'est la France.
Avant Garde
Last, but not the least, my entry-shot:
Black and Blue.
It didn't make the cut; one of the judges' critique was that it was too busy. Some like it, some don't.
Frankly, I had a difficult time choosing which of the shots to submit. I was torn between Black & Blue and Viva La France. Quite disappointed I didn't get in the cut. I always like to challenge myself.
So, c'est la vie. Now I'm more challenged and driven. :-)
Fellas, I'm officially back in the game.
